PIV4Algae team is a multidisciplinary team composed by researchers from LEPABE (Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy) and LSRE-LCM (Laboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering – Laboratory of Catalysis and Materials), both from the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. This team combines expertise on microalgal culture and biomass applications, wastewater characterisation and treatment, oil extraction and biodiesel production and characterisation. In addition, this project will benefit from an international advisory board, Dr. Lieve Laurens, from NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA).
